Who we are
For Clicks Sake (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a browser-based game available at forclickssake.app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we collect.
Playing without an account
You can play For Clicks Sake immediately without creating an account. When you play anonymously, we do not collect any personal data, set tracking cookies, or display advertisements. Your game progress is stored locally on your device only.
Account creation
If you choose to create an account, we collect:
- Email address (for login and account recovery)
- Display name (shown on leaderboards)
- Age bracket (under 13, 13–17, or 18+) — we do not store your exact birth date
- Country (inferred from IP address for country leaderboards)
Age restrictions
- Under 13: Account creation is not available. You may play anonymously only. No data is collected, no ads are shown.
- 13–17: You may create an account. Only contextual ads are shown (no behavioural targeting). We do not collect demographic data beyond age bracket.
- 18+: Full experience including optional demographic collection and standard advertising.
Game data
For registered users, we store gameplay data including scores, round results, session statistics, and spectrum ratings. This data is used to generate leaderboards and improve the game experience. You can request deletion of all your data at any time.
Cookies and tracking
We display a cookie consent banner before loading any tracking or advertising scripts. Anonymous and under-13 users have no cookies set. For consenting adult users, we may use analytics cookies to understand how the game is used and improve it.
Third-party services
We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, and Vercel for hosting. These services have their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Headlines and content
Headlines displayed in the game are sourced from publicly available news articles. We link back to original sources after each round. We do not claim ownership of third-party content.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent for cookies and tracking at any time
